Explore a wide game world, talk to characters, and help them out in quests— solving puzzles and learning more about local history and traditions. When things come to a head, you'll need to prove the truth and face-off against spirits in real-time RPG debate battles. Make smart use of the information you've acquired to face every rebuttal of your opponents!


Liao, having been awakened to the ability to see the gods and spirits in this world, came into contact with three feline spirits who each wanted a say in his life and his future.?

Three years after the story of?Nekojishi, Liao is out of college and strapped for cash and those closest to him, the spirits Lin Hu, Likulau, and Yan Shu-Chi are desperate to help Liao get a job.?

Take the reins at Lin & Partners Architects LLP, an architecture firm specialising in the restoration of haunted locations, and solving the problems of the beast-man spirits dwelling within them.

As Lin & Partners grows, a larger company looms near. Liao and the others must uncover their motives and ideals for tradition in modern society.

The story of Lin & Partners takes place as Liao and the others start up their new business venture. Connect with both old and new faces as Liao finds himself deep within the world of gods and spirits once more!

Many characters will join Liao throughout his adventure, humans, and troubled spirits alike. Discover their past and grow close to the ones you care about.?

During the game you'll discover new characters, some of which may even join Liao on their adventure, lending their hand to Liao during debates in order to get the upper-hand.

You'll also be able to get to know the spirits you meet in the world by undertaking side quests along your main adventure. The bonds you make with the various spirits that accompany Liao on your journey will make their arguments more powerful in debates!

When the time comes for Liao to convince a spirit, a debate begins! Debates are real-time RPG battles where the player uses Argument Cards to damage their opponent's credibility (HP). Using cards makes use of Inspiration Points (IP) which are replenished every turn.

In some scenarios, you may even need to use specific clues gathered in the adventure to disprove statements made by your opponent! Choose correctly and you'll leave them wide open!

Make smart use of Argument Cards and their effects to show your opponents your way of thinking! The cards you have access to will change depending on your progress in the adventure, what characters are by your side, side quests completed, and other secrets hidden in the world.

Every version of the game will contain every language. If you're backing for a Nintendo Switch copy, you'll be able to play in any language regardless of Nintendo eShop region.?

If we hit our base goal we'll start counting funds towards our stretch goals. We have a lot of exciting things we'd want to include in the game so let's make them happen. ??

The story of Lin & Partners was first drafted even before the release of the original Nekojishi. In 2017 there was a discussion about what Liao and the cats would do after the story of Nekojishi. From there came the idea of them meeting other spirits, and resolving the conflicts between humans and spirits just like Liao had done with the three main characters of the original Nekojishi.

The context to this adventure would be that Liao is opening up an architecture firm that specialises in design surrounding the principles of Feng Shui— the Chinese geomancy based around the existence of spirits in places. As such, Liao will be called in to help on sites in need of spiritual improvement, such as suspected haunted properties where the root of their issues will really be tied to yaoguai and other spirits interfering with the human world.

Originally the plan was to make Nekojishi: Lin & Partners a comic series, however in 2018 we decided to adapt this into a video game sequel to Nekojishi in response to the demand from our community. (Later we also released a different Nekojishi comic called?The Divine Battles?which is currently being published by Pawprint Press.)

In the beginning Lin & Partners was planned as a 2D simulation-puzzle game in the vein of games like Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer where the player needs to re-design spaces to meet given requirements and resolve Feng Shui related issues. Your success and failure in do so would influence the course of the story.

By late 2018 we were about to release an announcement for the game. We even released the teaser website?linandpartnersllp.com. However, just a few days after this release we assessed that the game we had planned conflicted with the story we wanted to tell.

We threw away nearly everything?and started over.

This is where Lin & Partners started as an adventure game. The player instead exploring the world, collecting items, solving puzzles, and completing quests. (Later that would expand into the real-time RPG debate gameplay where your skill in the adventure is tested!)

At this time we also swapped from 2D sprite characters to 3D models to give us more flexibility and make room for the more complex scenarios found in an adventure game. And soon after we switched from our 2D scenes when we realised producing them was both too time consuming for our lead background artist and too restrictive to iteration, especially with our small team.

Since then we've been building the framework that will allow us to make Lin & Partners a reality, from scene pipelines, animation tools, gameplay and scripting and we're finally at a point where we feel ready to share our game with the world!

Studio Klondike is an indie team of writers, programmers, and artists who have aimed to create heartfelt narrative and gaming experiences ever since we came together to crowdfund and make our first video game?Nekojishi?in 2016 which we released back in 2017! In September, we released our second game, the short story Beek - Familiar Spirit on?iOS,?Android, and?itch.io!

Nekojishi: Lin & Partners is the biggest project we've ever worked on by far. It's been in planning since 2017, gone though iteration after iteration, and now we're finally ready to share our vision with you all. Throughout the planning of this game we've grown immensely both as a team and in our capabilities. We feel we've come a long way since the visual novel we pored everything we had into back in 2017, and we really want to have the chance to take this next big leap.

The following is a general estimate of the planned timeline for the production of Nekojishi: Lin & Partners.

We want to make the best game we can, so we wanted to leave the above timeline open to change depending on how both this campaign and the actual production of the game goes.


Pawprint Press has been our distributor for merchandise and publisher for comic works involved with our team over the past few years. Together with Pawprint Press we've produced and distributed a variety of products based on your games!

For this project, Pawprint Press will be responsible for the production and fulfilment of our physical rewards.?

Right now we've completed the groundwork needed to go into full production. From asset creation pipelines, to scene building, game design, story outlines, and the beginnings of implementation and scripting. The only thing holding us back is the resources required to create everything needed for the project and the time required to make it.

The game is planned to be released in mid-late 2021 for PC, macOS, and Nintendo Switch. While we want to complete the game as quickly as possible, we also wish to be able to take some extra time to make everything perfect. The more stable our income, the safer we'll feel being able to take that time to create the vision we want. No matter what happens, we'll keep you up to date regularly.

To ensure the smoothest release possible, the game has been developed for all three platforms together, while targeting Nintendo Switch first. This is for two reasons. Firstly, this is our first time developing for Nintendo Switch and we wanted to prove to ourselves 100% that we could make it happen before we made promises. Secondly, we wanted to give Switch players the best experience playing Nekojishi: Lin & Partners, so we're authoring all assets for the platform right from the beginning to make the game look the best it can be. While we expect to make plenty of changes throughout the development of the game, we always want to be honest about what we present to players.

The delivery of rewards for this project will be produced and fulfilled by our merchandise partners at Pawprint Press. We've worked with Pawprint Press ever since our first game to produce and sell high quality merchandise for our fans. We're confident in their quality and commitment in making things right for their customers. For the physical rewards on offer we've gone out of our way to either base our production estimates off existing products produced by Pawprint Press or have worked with them to have prototypes made and production quotes on hand. As such we have done all we can do to ensure we can meet the expectations of the physical rewards offered in this project. Rewards will be produced and shipped prior to the launch of the game in 2021.

And as always, making games is challenging. This is the biggest project we've ever taken on and we want to create something that makes our team, our community, and everyone who plays our game proud.
